On January 25, 2022, the Kern County Board of Supervisors approved a roughly $1.2 million grant from the California Office of the Small Business Advocate to provide relief to eligible Kern County small businesses that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible small businesses that can show a pandemic-related financial loss, and have not received funds from other state grant programs, may receive up to a $2,500 grant. Businesses who employed 50 or less full-time equivalent employees (FTEs) and had gross revenues of less than $2.5 million or below in 2019 are eligible to apply.
